OUTREACH 2006

On a wild adventure!! Go North of England, North of Scotland, Skip over Faeroe Islands – then we have it, the destination for DTS Outreach 2006, Iceland!!!

Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.”

The Bible, the word of truth. What is written in this Psalm is also what we want to share with the Icelandic people. Gods truth, His ways, His path, we want to see them get to know God, that they may find their hope in Him.

Whilst Iceland, like most of Europe is officially a Christian, there are questions. Mostly because through the lifestyle you see the young people leading. Much drink and drug abuse is found within the Icelandic youth scene. BBC have noted in reports from mothers and families of the problems this has on Education and work, and that’s just the start. Pray that we can be people who make a difference in this rocky land. Pray that we can shove a stick in the ground and say no more abuse (alcohol, drugs, sexual), and there would be a whole crowd of Icelanders who agree. That many would come to know God and many would be passionate to make Him known.

The A-TEAM

I will be leading a team of 6 students to Iceland. A young Icelandic lady named Sunna will co-lead (we are still to meet). We will be in Iceland for 70 days.

Our goal in Iceland is really to evangelise the youth. We will also try and start-up some brand new ministries, Bible Groups & Prayer Groups. We will preach and share testimony’s in Churches and the rest ….?

Youth With A Mission is a dynamic "missions movement." This means we are people who move.

As the second phase of the DTS, specially organised teams are sent out for 8 - 12 weeks of evangelism in cross-cultural situations. The emphasis is on the application of principles taught in the DTS lecture phase coupled with teaching on evangelism concepts and practices equipping students to share their faith using a variety of ways.

"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (Mark 16:15)
